Re: Does ShowXpress need to be in the foreground? [done]
I will set it up again here and look at the USB issue but not sure if it's solvable. Unfortunately the laptop has a single USB-A that the mixer has to be attached to as the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver demands a unique port. There are two USB C ports but one of those is the charge port and the laptop ...

At short while later the USB connected Hercules controller (also running MIDI) stopped functioning. I was running ShowExpress on the laptop screen and had extended the desktop ...

Does ShowXpress need to be in the foreground? [done]
I am a laptop down for an event on Wednesday. I usually run sound from one laptop and lighting from the second. One laptop has been dropped and broken a hinge! I have installed ShowXpress on the same laptop as the sound (a mixture of Mixxx and SCS), and have an Akai APC midi controller configured ...

Re: Chauvet XPress 512 with QLab 5
I believe that to be correct certainly with my version of the DMX dongle/controller.
I don't run my from Qlab but from a MIDI enabled board.
Support may have a solution with other controllers.

Re: Chauvet XPress 512 with QLab 5
Set up your light show in Showxpress. Then use Qlab to send MIDI codes to match those you have set up as triggers against buttons in Showxpress. In the Live tab. Under Editor there are three horizontal lines. Click that for button settings. You can do the same in Sequential list and it's the ...

Re: Working with old lightshows
If using Windows 10 or 11, do another search on the drive in question but ensure that in File Explorer under the View tab 'Hidden Items' is checked, and under the Search tab, 'Advanced Options' that System Files is checked. It seems as though on some machines the installed version has these options ...
