Crashing sofware with one showfile at startup in 9.4.1 - works with older versions

Post by DJL »

Dear QuickDMX users and support,

I’ve been a long-time user of QuickDMX software and have gained a lot of knowledge here in the forum and experience through working with it over the years.

Currently, I’m encountering a serious issue with one of my shows. The project was rebuilt recently, and I suspect it may have been edited across multiple software versions unintentionally. The initial work started in version 9.4.0, then continued in 9.4.1, and some parts were edited on a different machine running version 9.3.8.

From the 9.3.8 environment, I exported the show and then imported it into 9.4.1. Since then, every attempt to open the show in 9.4.1 causes the application to crash immediately.

To rule out system-specific issues, I tested the same show file on another PC with a clean installation of QuickDMX. The result was the same: the show crashes in 9.4.1 but loads and runs correctly in 9.4.0.

This behavior suggests a potential compatibility issue or bug in version 9.4.1 when handling projects created or edited across mixed versions. Could someone from the development team assist in identifying the root cause? I'd also be happy to provide the show file if needed for debugging purposes.

Best regards,
Ludo
