Now this is weird, I used to use this xfactor on my Dell laptop for years (which is windows vista 32 bit), now I've been trying on the new laptop.

As you suggested I tried back on the old laptop, and it did not recognize the device. I manually choose the driver, and same thing Code 10, can not ...

This may be the problem I am having as well.

Windows 8 64 bit, Asus VivoBook X202E, 1 USB 3.0 port and 2 USB 2.0 ports.

I have connected my XFactor to all of these ports, every time the device driver says "This device cannot start. Code 10. A request for the USB device descriptor failed."

UPDATE: somehow after trying a few times, rebooted, it let me install the driver!

BUT, now the device says "The device can not start (Code 10). A Request for the USB Device descriptor failed."

How do we fix this now?

I have follow each of your steps. When I get to choose the inf file, I choose BOX 64 bits, and windows keeps telling me :

"The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64 ...

Ok, which driver file did you choose?

I have tried uninstalled showxpress, reinstalled it, then plug in the XFactor, then try to manually update the driver, point to the driver.zip (which I unziped into a folder) and it does not see any appropriate driver.

I am trying to install the USB driver for the xfactor on a new Windows 8 64bit laptop. I installed ShowXpress successfully, but windows never seems to find the drivers for the interface box. The box is powered by usb only.

Seems I have the same problem, but uninstalling and reinstalling never allows the device manager to see the xfactor interface. What driver did you choose? When I manually point it to the drivers folder that i downloaded, it doesn't see any choices.

There is no menus at all when i right click anywhere in Live, i've tried all over the place in it, but no menu shows up when i right click, so I can not add any scenes....

oh and sorry, i'm using Vista.
