Anybody interested in theatre use?

My work centres around theatre and music performance. I really like the software but it is not entirely suitable for this specific field. So i am interested if there are users out there who would like to have theatre functionality included? Tnx & grts.

I do use it in a theatre environment. Typically 12 Lekos, 60k hung US, MS and DS along with 20 LED Pars and various types of movers. What are you wanting that the software doesn't do for you?

I am lost with trying to use LS in a theatre environment.

I have mastered setup and editor but cannot produce a live theatre show.
All I want yo do is move from scene to scene with a cross fade when I press a button.

The manuals are useless as they seem to think LS is only used in a disco. I do not want a glorified light switch which this programme appears to be.

Please tell me how to do it in nice easy steps.

To do that, you "only" have to set to "fade" the channels (just under the faders in Editor) in the first step of your light scenes.
Or you can try the actual beta version with its new fade in/out functionality.

Select one par can in editor. Make it a 2 sec scene with a slope transition at the bottom of the fader. If it doesn't look likea slope click in it until it does. There are only two choices. Now raise your fader to 100%/255dmx. And save the scen.
Put that scene you saved into Live and click it.
Assuming that Live is the only thing with 3D and DMX buttons activated. If so? You should see you light go to full in a nice steady rise time.
If you click the button off it will snap off. That's because you need a scene to give it a decay tim. So build another scene just like before only do it to a separate par can. But before you save that scene go back to the first par can and throw its fader up and the all the way down. Be sure to make sure the transition slip is set to curve at the bottom below the fader. Save that scene, give it a different name and then put it into the same Live board.
Next? Right click the board and choose "solo buttons". Cluck your first scene and first par can rises. Click the second button and the first fades and the second rises.
When you get that down I'll explain why when you cluck back to the first button the second par can snaps off. Once you can make all that work? You will have the fundamentals of crossfading between two lights down. And then you can replicate it to all the light you want in one scene to all you want in the next scene. And I can go on to explain how to do a dipped fade if you wish.

Maybe easier in this case to use the fade-in/fade-out option in the Beta version. Appears to be stable.
Only thing I have not been able to find out yet is how to set the fade-timings.
