Sometimes when generator files are played back, they will "hesitate" for moments at very random times. I'm doing a lot of programming right now and I've noticed it a few times. Not neceesarily often but definitely noticeable on movers that are doing circles and just arbitrarily freeze and then rapidly jump to catch up to their intended pan/tilt position on where playback is in the generator.
I don't necessarily assume that it's the software or the dongle but I'm trying to determine what would cause this and how I can prevent it?
I'm running the dongle into a Chauvet iso 6 splitter and then out to a bunch of fixtures. All DMX cable and no boosters or amplifiers.
Any thoughts as to what could cause this? Is DMX dropping in the chain for a bit? Could it be something in the laptop?
Macbook Air M2 running latest non-native version. Dongle is 1024 directly connected to USB C port.
Thank you.
Generator Playback jumpiness
Re: Generator Playback jumpiness
A DMX data freeze during Generator play means the processor misses time to execute the task.
We suggest you to open the macOS "Task Monitor" window and watch the processor time of the working tasks.
