Triggering Timelines in Buttons

Post by socalmagic »

I have created several different timelines with audio and light scenes. What is the best way to set-up a live show that is easiest for a lighting tech to run? Ideally, It would be easiest if it could be set-up like presentation software. The timelines are in order. The tech would hit the spacebar, and it would play the first timeline, and then the next time the spacebar is pressed (after the previous timeline is finished) it would play the next timeline. Is this possible? If not, then what is the easiest way to organize a show for a tech to run?

Perhaps name the timelines 1, 2, 3, 4 etc? So that it is obvious which is next.

Well, that seems easy, but I know a tech will forget to turnoff the previous timeline every once in a while. In addition, they may accidentally start the wrong timeline. The best solution is to force it to go in sequential order with a spacebar starting the next timeline. Is that possible?

No, cue lists aren't possible in the software (would be useful for theatre)
Sorry :/

Just a suggestion, have you considered the solo button. When you press one time line it is supposed to turn off what's running and play the button you pressed only on that page by itself.

Ok, I figured out how to do this. I simply have one giant timeline for each show. I can then place stop markers at the end of each song. When it is time to play the next song, my lighting tech just has to hit the space bar. I can also eliminate the lighting tech by getting a remote that will automatically send the signal to the computer that the space bar has been pressed.

However, I have already created a separate timeline for each song. Is it possible to copy and paste the individual songs and their light scenes into a single timeline? That would save me from redoing some very complex timelines.

In addition, it would be very helpful to have a pause button in the timeline that keeps it on the current lightscene when it is pauses, and then resumes the timeline when the space bar is pressed.

It is possible to copy/paste a selection of events (song + light scenes), from one TimeLine project to another TimeLine project, using copy and paste functions.

The tool "Pause" is in the TODO list, but not easy to do (no date for this).

Hello support, I have been doing some things with your program that i will soon upload, mixing live midi drum triggers with realtime lights sometimes and other times triggering timelines on and off between them both trigger with pads or drum triggers, using 6 of your color palette lights and some progectors too.... I feel like i have almost reached a limit as what i can do with this show express software, but with a few extra buttons and or options we can all make so much more possible with your program. I would greatly appreciate a "PAUSE" button too. So i wouldnt have to change patches on all midi devices to trigger different timelines. We can just use a giant timeline and continue with a pause between songs. Please let me know how close you are to making this button. I would really like to continue growing our live light show. Thanks!

The pause button is currently in timeline. I use it a lot as my cue.
