Can't play audio/video files [fixed]
Hi,
I read the locked post about this in FAQ. However, what am I supposed to do on a brand new MacBook Pro? I don't want to mess with it much. Everything else runs like a dream.
Will support continue for 5.2? That's the last version that worked and that I could use the Media and Timeline in.
Thanks

Re: Can't play audio/video files in LIVE
V5 forum is open, and we still post there when required: V5
However, there will not be any new software release for V5.

Re: Can't play audio/video files in LIVE
So can I forget playing audio in LIVE then with 6?
Re: Can't play audio/video files in LIVE
We do not understand why you prefer V5 instead of V6 regarding audio playing.
V6 is supposed to do same (or better) as V5 for this.
Please explain clearly what you can do in V5 that you can not do in V6.

Well, it was because I couldn't get my MP3's to play in Live. But today for some reason everything works great. Maybe just needed time to think about it, and a good reboot. I will keep you posted.
Thanks for following up.

Ok. May be we should add the following topic in the "Announcement" section: "for any problem with our software under Windows, before blaming our software, please make one (or two) good Windows reboot. This might fix your problem".

Re: Can't play audio/video files [fixed]
I didn't blame your product. I was excited to put in on a MacBook Pro rather than my crappy windows machine, and I've had some issues.
The rebooting and tweeking I did only fixed HALF the problem anyway. I can play a MP3 file after assigning a button to it in Live. HOWEVER, when playing an MP3 in combination with anything like a .jpg for instance in the Video/Picture Timeline, only 3 seconds of audio plays. I have tried different MP3's, exiting out of and restarting ShowXpress, saving the Timeline and making a button for it in Live. Nothing has worked.
If your response was playful sarcasm, it didn't come across that way. I've already have had a snide response from support on this forum for feature suggestions that other people were in support of.
Thanks,
Dave Lerbakken
