feature suggestions [fixed]

Post by jaxx00974 »

Couple of feature suggestions we find would help us tons.

1. 'LIVE BUTTONS REMAIN GREY AFTER CLICKING' In the live board, we use it for launching timelines (of our songs) so we do use it kind of like a juke box. The suggestion is it would be great for the buttons to stay grey after they are clicked so we can see what songs are still left to choose from. I wrote my own software 2 years ago which allowed audio and midi to play together (using midi to sequence lights using an M2LPRO) and I had the songs listed and they changed colour after they where clicked. It would be a big help especially whilst onstage under pressure.

2. 'CHOOSING MORE THAN ONE SCENE AT A TIME' When you right click in a timeline to add a scene, it would be great to be able to highlight several scenes at once and when you click ok they all appear in th timeline, rather than doing that action for each individual scene.

3. FONT COLOUR IN LIVE. This would be cool, it would allow a dark button colour with light coloured text (allows the screen to be darker thus no monitor glow on stage)

4. SCREEN BLACKOUT (again this would allow the screen to go black when you hit the space barfor instance could toggle the blackout on and off ?. This would also be a great help to prevent monitor glow on stage) we have had the stage blacked out with no lights on and you would be amazed at the amount of light the monitor screen omits. this would solve it.

And of course loosing the 00:48:00 button backdrop would be brilliant for our needs and possibly others.

Thank chaps,

Lee.

Just suggestions I feel would benifit our live band set up.

1 - " display some kind of "mark", after each button has beeing played once, so we can see what songs are still left to choose from" is noted in TODO list. But when shall we "reset" the marks ?

2 - presently, the "added" scene goes at the time where was made the right mouse click. At which time should we put the other scenes ?

3 - not easy because icons into buttons are coming for next software release, and we would have to redraw theses icons. Right now, in order to save a lot of development time, we prefer to keep black color for text (and future icons).

4 - we will check if we have an easy solution for that. If yes, we might do something.

00:48:00 button backdrop
This picture will be much less visible in next software release, because its color will match with the button color.

Could this please be an option as it would be annoying when the software was being used in a "make it up as I go along" gig because then allot of scenes will be used more than once.

Hi Chaps,

1 If there was perhaps an option called 'Button Check'on the right click button menu which would then make the button stay grey if pressed. This way we can all choose which buttons do it, perfect. And of course if someone doesnt want that feature then they wont click the 'Button Check' It would be a great feature for us that use timelines for playing music, lights etc.' To reset the buttons we would simple close Sweetlight and restart it, I would be very happy with that solution. (I see your mention icons on buttons, this could also be a solution ie once the file has been played the icon on the button Could change to a semi transparent 'X' ? , this would do the job probably even more beautifully)

2 The other Scenes would simply appear on the same timeline one after the other which we can then drag them to where they are meant to go.

3 Nno problem, look forward in seeing the icons.

4 I am also writing a bit of blackout software which can link to a windows macro (when the space bar is pressed the entire screen blacks out then 'escape will exit the blackout' I thought if that was included in the software it would be another nice thoughtful feature'

The colour match on the 00:48:00 is perfect as it will effectivly be invisible, cool !

Just while on the topic, it would be nice to be able to CTRL A in the timeline to select everything and drag the entire timeline content forward or back, Ii can do this manually but it takes ages even using Shift and control.

Another suggestion would be for Sweetlight to remain in the last directory, for instance when adding scenes from folders within folders it would be nice to click 'Add Scene' and the browser is at the last folder I was working in. Handy for use within Editor and timeline. I know this is the norm for alot of packages.

Thank a ton for your attention,

Take Ccare,

Lee.

1 - in TOTO list
2 - in TODO list
4 - in TODO list, but no technical solution for now (must be multi-OS solution)
TimeLine <ctrl A> - we can not use it, because it is the keyboard shortcut to trigger a scene button in "macro" mode.
Remain last directory - in TODO list.

I presume you don't use the tap tempo function then? As this uses the spacebar.

If we find a solution to do this, we will obviously use another shortcut key.

here here :-)

4. Perhaps a 'Select All' option in the right click menu in Timeline ? which will obvioulsy not interfere with the ctl a ?

The blackout button. I would happily send you the very small blackout.exe I am going to write (pc only obviously) and send it to you (Although I am sure your programming skills are a million miles beyond what I can do :-) Maybe this could sit alongside your other exe files and it would be there for users to assign whatever windows macro they wish, this way it remains outside your code for Sweetlight ? Just an idea but I am sure you will know best.

Really looking forward to the changes, although they are non critical, 6.24 is smooth smooth smooth :-)

Take care,

Lee.

We think "TimeLine->Select all" is too restrictive. We are looking for another more flexible selection function (in the TODO list).

We can not implement a "Windows only" blackout function in the software.

How about a 'Move All' instead ? which would allow us to simply drag it forward/ back ? o

Or move all to red marker ?
