how to show Chauvet 4bar in 3D

Post by drphoto »

Sorry if this has been covered. I know the 3D view has limited fixture capability. What is the work around to show a Chauvet 4bar unit? I know you can' t just create 4 generic LED pars, as the 4bar has one DMX address.

Does seem like if this software is being sold under the Chauvet brand, it could include all their fixtures.

You can only create 4 * RGB pars, without possibility to control shutter and master dimmer.

FYI, we already sent this message to the manufacturers (similar story with multi-RGB fixtures):
********************************************************************************************************
Instead of making: pan1, tilt1, color1, gobo1, pan2, tilt2, color2, gobo2, dimmer (for all).
Please make: pan1, tilt1, color1, gobo1, dimmer1, pan2, tilt2, color2, gobo2, dimmer2.
Then no more problems ; the product becomes two real fixtures, straight compatible with all existing lighting software.
And it is so easy for the manufacturer to split the "master" dimmer into dimmer1 + dimmer2.
Again, manufacturers, please make a "smart" channels mode, and you will sell more quantities.
In our side, that would be so more nice if we could use our coding time for more interesting new features.

But if create 4 pars w/ the same dmx address, aren't they clones and will all show the same color? The 4 lamps of the 4Bar are independent, but the whole unit has one dmx address.

Looks like the workaround explained in this thread viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1233 but I don't see the screen shots the guy posted to show how to make it happen. just text that says "setup.jpg" etc.
