A Macro To Switch All Buttons Off?

Post by CHR1155 »

Hey guys,

Is it possible to set a macro to turn all the buttons off?

I use sweetlight with the band i work for, and with the way i have it setup when it gets to the end of the song, i frantically have to turn all the buttons off between songs! Is the above mentioned possible, or am i stuck ha?

Cheers,

Chris

You can set a keyboard key to trigger the button. Then when you press <crtl> + <shift> + <key>, all ,other buttons are switched off.

Try <CTRL> + <SHIFT> + <Z> all at once. Works like a charm on both my PC's and MacBook Pro. Just be ready to grab another scene as it blacks everything out immediately.

You could use a USB MIDI switch/controller.

What I'm looking to use is a rackmount touch screen monitor so trying to get as much control on the LIVE page as possible.

While I use Ctrl+Shift+Z because of their proximity of each other, I do build master pages of Macros incorporating all of the features I need for each song, I run that page as Solo Buttons. Then I put in a a single looped scene for whatever final effects I want want fly always, bumps, flashes, fades, or global blackouts.
When the scene loops once it releases. And that page is clear.
However Ctrl+Shift+(letter of your choice, mine is z) is a great idiot proof way to clear all of your buttons, as well as working as a snap global blackout. Even if you go to a rack mount touch screen you will still want this feature whether by keyboard, touchscreen keyboard, a customised keyboard shortcut, etc.
Perhaps Support could institute a master kill button on the Live page, and I'd probably use it, however they are heading into a Ver 7 release and it might be some time before the could institute it.

Yes, coming V7 prevents us to make improvements for V6.
No big improvements for months is the price to pay for a major new version.

However, "all buttons off" function, triggerable from midi and keyboard, is noted is the V7 ToDo list (no frame date for this).

I make a scene that activates all fixtures and brings all the values to zero and the movers to home.
This scene can be used in multiple ways. I create it as a one step 1 second scene. Then I can manipulate it in Live by looping it, adjusting the speed, making it a flash button, etc. Then I use that scene in whatever page in Live I am to finish a song.
I also use it on my page I made of the keyboard triggers I use. It is assigned to "z", and I can keyboard trigger it with a Ctrl+Alt+z and viola! I have instant global NO and the movers homed.
