Hi,
Is it possible to trigger the steps by DMX. For exemple we have a scene with 4 steps of movements for a movinghead. Can we triggers the differents steps by changing the value DMX. Exemple: value 0-100 = step 1 value 101-150 = step 2, value 151-200 = step 3, value 201-255 = step 4 Or is it simply possible to change the BPM value in the manual-BPM box by DMX ?
Preset and BPM trigger by DMX input
Re: BPM trigger by DMX input
would it be possible in the feature ?
Re: BPM trigger by DMX input
This is technically possible.
This could be done if this is not a "one single user requirement".
We will wait to see if big requirement or not.

Re: Preset and BPM trigger by DMX input
I would like to request this feature as well.... I can see where it could be quite handy.
I know you are in the middle of a major upgrade, so I dont expect anything, but wanted
to note my vote for it as well. I use a wing console and dmx soft patching, but can see
a few times where I could use a single slider to activate several steps of a single preset button.

Re: Preset and BPM trigger by DMX input
I spoke to eedetail privately last night about this, covering what you can and can't do with this feature. And I have to admit I would probably find a use for the feature as he has asked.
Perhaps this would dovetail into my interest of preset buttons being clicked through with the arrow buttons when the slider is highlighted on a particular preset button.
I say that because I have macros that call multiple preset buttons and I would need the arrow button to only move the preset button I want moved, not all the presets I have selected.

Re: Preset and BPM trigger by DMX input
The more I think about the this, the more I wonder how usable it will be. Sure finding four spots on a fader, given a DMX range to react would be fine. But I actually have a few presets that utilise 20 to 255 positions.
We would need a way to assign how the preset fader reacts in a given situation, and/or a priority system when multiple presets buttons are activated.
What is an easier way to do this? Macros can already recall preset fader positions? Why not just make multiple Macros calling the steps you want and put them on a solo page in Live?
And while I understand that wing consoles are nice, I use one myself, keyboard triggers give you 52 choices of assignment. I use two keyboards, the built in one on my hybrid computer/PC set to small letters, and a bluetooth keyboard set to CAPS. With my wing console, 2 tablets using the Live App, the hybrid running ShowXpress, and 2 keyboards? I can pull off a lot of features already.
