New Idea "Midi BPM"
Can you possibly create a button addition to button speed? Where it lets you choose between manual BPM, auto BPM and then have a Midi BPM option. This could be useful in chasing steps to a midi beat each time that button receives a beat it goes to the next step. Being that sound activation doesn't seem sensitive enough for all music types maybe this type of button would do the trick. I think a lot of users would find this useful from reading recent posts...

We do not know "Midi BPM".
If you can tell us more about "Midi BPM" (technical side), we will see what we can do.

Re: New Idea "Midi BPM"
That was just a name i gave the button "idea", Midi MPM would basically take the midi notes received during a specific scene and each note received would send the scene to its next step. Maybe you can add an option for a specific note number or a global option where any midi data will send the scene to the next step per midi note or "hit" (for lack of a better word) received.... Think of what kind of cool light this would kick off? It would be an amazing addition to midi users, using keys or electronic or triggered drums, also could be used in theater for a number of ideas.....support wrote:We do not know "Midi BPM".

Re: New Idea "Midi BPM"
So you mean "forward steps via midi" (?)
Please note that it is already possible via midi sliders.

Re: New Idea "Midi BPM"
Ok so the past few hours i have done some more investigating. What i am trying to say is this....support wrote:So you mean "forward steps via midi" (?)
Please note that it is already possible via midi sliders.
On a button running a 4 step scene each step is a different color, set the button options to "preset" Mode. That tiny slider will appear above button. Can you make it where every time you hit that button the slider moves one notch (or one step down) into the scene and continues to the next step each time you press it and let it loop. now if u press with the mouse this button every time would be one of the 4 different colors. Then if i can trigger that button with midi that would be amazing. Im sorry its not so simple to explain.
Thanks again for your help & Effort

Re: New Idea "Midi BPM"
The whole point of this is to be able to trigger different steps of a scene thru "Real Time" Midi triggering with same note number

Re: New Idea "Midi BPM"
The whole idea would really work great for live musicians triggiring sounds thru midi, Not thru midi sliders for musicians that dont have a free hand to move a slider. This would be great for musicians using midi keyboards, midi acustic drum triggers, electronic drum pads, midi guitar devices and DJ's. There are a ton of bands out there now all starting to bring their own lighting and interested in building their own specific light shows. When on tour every band we have been playing with has been asking me what program i use for the lights and how does it all work... I tell them all and send them to your website
This feature could also be usefull for other members using show xpress for theater trying to forward a scene without midi sliders, instead of having to put pause butons in their timeline, you could just have them press the specific button to forward next step and that would be alot less confusing.
I would even offer to donate some money to the program to have a feature like this if that would help.
Right now as a drummer triggering lights to music that changes tempo and time signiture quickly there is no other way to trigger different lights and scenes and keep them in sync, i am stuck with either a one color 1 step flash scene, or triggering a whole scene per midi note and that would get out of time quickly after a few beats because live musicians speed up and slow down there is no way for me to get more creative and forward steps. The solution would be to make something that can work in "Real Time" and be tight for musicians who improvise and dont stick to a specific tempo or time signiture
If you added this feature any musician would be able to trigger acustic drums for example hit the bass drum triggered thru midi, the scene would be forwarded by the same midi note or even any midi note forwarding the steps. It could really create so many different types of lighting instead of just having the same light every time i hit the bass drum. Being that the sound activation doesnt seem to follow all types of music well enough expecialy at higher tempos were it is tight and right on beat this would be the only other option other then going with a different program or setup. I understand you have to put your time towards creating features people will use, i think once people see this function and try it they will see how usefull it is and the endless possibilities it could create visually, and creatively the options would be endless....
I also just got to the bottom of the sound and video glitching issues i was having, at first i thought is was the vibrations of laptop, cause it would only happen when we were playing live music never happened in my room no matter how hard i shook the computer, so i put some sound foam under it same issue. I realized it wasnt vibrations but the spinning disk hard drive was glitching due to the magnetic field created by loud powerfull guitar speakers, Pa systems and monitors on stage. So i installed a SSHD and the problem is now solved. You might wanna sugest this to people having issues with skipping or glitching timelines....
Thanks again for your help , i hope you will consider my idea and maybe make it a reality for me and the rest of the community to use.
Thanks again
