Connect 48 Channel Express Board to ShowXpress

I am trying to incorporate being able to use the sliders on our existing light board as an input in the editor and emergency override for Live if we need to make a change on the fly. Has anyone done this and have advice? I have successfully connected it and set up a couple channels, but the channels don't work in live or editor and one of them keeps refusing to work on the board or anything in showXpress when defined. What am I doing wrong?

It is my impression from a previous support question that this is not possible. The editor does not map - only live with triggers. I'd love to be able to do this (hint) Someone correct me if I am wrong.
