Hi folks - other people seem to have had an easier ride than me but after a few days of head scratching I have managed to make Live Mobile work on my HTC - and fantastic it is!
So some (hard won) tips:-
1. Dont assume your smartphone can access wi-fi. I had to enable my HTC Desire on the "wireless and networks" settings screen. It tells you what networks are available and connects you
2. If youre using anything other than Windows firewall you have to sort that out with the software supplier. I use Kaspersky 2012 and the help desk was really helpful as to how you enable control panel to access the relevant port. If anyone needs the link I can post it here. Oh and by the way after you've sorted the port access, you have to restart the laptop - just "apply" doesnt do it!
