Programming shortcut idea

Post by Detour DJ »

Hi All,
I just thought of an idea that might be very convenient. While using the Live section, how about having the option to right-click a Scene Button and open the Editor for that scene? I know it's not much trouble to open the editor and then open a scene, but having a right-click option from a Live section Button would allow really quick editing while programming or even during a show.

I like it. Just have to be careful if you already have editor up for some manual live adjustments.

We have effectively to study all possible glitches, like this one.
This is why all new improvements are not so easy.

Perhaps allow the right-click action from a Live Button to "Flip" the Editor. This would cause one of two things to happen, depending on the open/closed status of Editor: 1) Simply open Editor if it's closed, or 2) Save the current Editor scene to a temporary file, then reload it with the Live Button scene. Once you're finished editing the Live Button scene, it could be saved, then Editor automatically "flips back" to its status before the flip...either closed or open (with the previous scene restored from the temporary file).

This could please users wanting to make quick edits to Buttons while working in Live, and also continue to allow users to keep Editor open for manual operation without losing the manual scene or introducing wasteful keystrokes to accomplish everything mentioned here.
