Sometimes a faulty DMX lead somewhere the in chain can cause this problem, have had it happen to me numerous times. Easy way to test this is to use your controller on multiple different rigs, or alternatively use a different controller (ie perhaps a hardware controller), and of course check all your DMX cabling.
To add to this, how long is your dmx run and are you actually using DMX cables or XLR (audio/microphone) cables? Also, is there a dmx terminator on the end of every line?

PC Specs -
  • Intel I3-6100 3.7Ghz CPU
    8.0 GB RAM
    9917GB HDD/866 GB Free
    Windows 10 Pro
We do have some sound XLR cables in the system and are working on replacing them. We have replaced them from the ShowXpress dongle to the first DMX Splitter/Opto-Isolator. We have also replaced from their to a 1 --> splitter with opto isolator that is in the rigging. The only sounds XLRs left are after the the second splitter and time permitting we will replace that. What is interesting is when the flickering and random DMX channels activating happens it doesn't affect just one part of the system. It affects light that are DMX enabled and lights on our dimmer packs.

Also interesting is the fact that using a web browser or other applications can trigger more flashing and blinking.

We don't have access to another system for testing or would have tested the PC and dongles separately.

Testing the interface with a second computer is the best way to be sure it is damaged or not.
If not possible and you are sure the rest of your installation is ok, then there is no other choice to consider the interface is damaged.
Please return it to the seller for maintenance service.

Sounds like something on the motherboard of either your box or your laptop is broken. Or it could be a fault in one of the isolators but that wouldn't cause more interfearance when you went to the internet.
Also, for some extra information, is there a powerful wifi device close to one of your cables that your laptop is connected to, that could be a cause as well.

Ok, thanks for the input. I will make arrangements to bring in another desktop or a laptop to isolate further. May be a couple weeks before I can get that done. Easter service is this week and as much as we don't like the blink not willing to make a drastic change until we get through that.
