3D View as Visualiser for Hardware

Post by Clive »

Hi Guys,

Am I correct in thinking there is a new 3D View imminent (October 2013)?

Now here's a thought... Your 3D View does a pretty decent job of allowing visualisation and planning of a light show (thanks!) and is easy to use. How about making it available as a stand alone visualiser that can connect to incoming DMX or ArtNet (over USB / ethernet) and controlled by external hardware controllers?

The visualisation software that is available tends to be very complex, including show plot print outs, and commensurately costly. The ShowXpress 3D View must already respond to DMX internally, so it 'only' needs an interface front end written. This would enable it to be used to visualise in-office show programming of Chauvet Obey controllers. Obviously there would have to be a charge for the front-end software interface or overall 'visualisation package' but it would be a really great addition!

A few more 3D Objects would be really appreciated also, to help visualise a venue.

What do you think, could you be encouraged?

Best Regards!

Sorry but 3DView will not be improved in a near future.
There is also no plan to do a 3D visualiser, for external lighting controllers.
Sorry for this.

Noted for "more 3D objects".

Thanks for your reply.

I have to write I think it a pity about a 'stand alone' 3D Visualiser over ArtNet / DMX. I have looked at most of them out there and think yours is one of the best (perhaps the objects - especially the humans could be a bit more realistic) and easiest to use! I am sure there is need in the market for such a product at the right price point.

Kind Regards.
