hi
I'm trialing the software without the hardware right now to see what features are available. I'm struggling to understand how the sound input works.
If you build a scene with time parameters (each step is X seconds for example), then how does Beats per minute help? What effect does each beat have? Is a beat considered one second? I'm totally lost.
If, for example, I want my strobe light to kick with every beat - is that possible?
Thanks
Matt
BPM input?
Re: BPM input?
We suggest you to make a basic 4 channels chase scene, and to open the "dmx bargraph" window (right click in ControlBoard). Then you could easily see the steps running behaviour, when changing the "speed" options in Live.

aaaaah - that's what I needed! The DMX graph. Thanks, i can test much more now
Re: BPM input?
Is it possible to trigger a button on each beat? Or only to change the speed by BPM?
I want to kick my strobes off with every beat as an example (and later more complicated stuff)

Re: BPM input?
It is not possible to trigger buttons with BPM.
A button is supposed to trigger a dynamic scene, with background color change ; changing buttons at 180 bpm would be a bit fast for screen refresh.

Re: BPM input?
I almost have it! Step one - strobes on, step two - strobes off.
If you set the button to auto bpm then the strobes will kick to the beat... just gotta first tap the button ON a beat.
It quickly skips and misses beats though and gets out of sync. Sometimes it gets to a quiet part of the song and stops on step one - so you're left with a flashing strobe turned on.
Dammit. :-/
Anything in development?

Re: BPM input?
"Auto BPM" function can not be perfectly accurate on all music types. You can also use the "Manual BPM" function to manual tap the BPM ...
