Macro and Presets

Post by Pink LD »

Support,
Some feedback:
I just downloaded the Beta fix and gave it a whirl. It works as I expected when looking at an actual fixture or through 3D. But my live button preset I tested with a couple of Macros doesn't show the preset slider position being changed. It's minor to me at this point because it functionally does what I need.

Sorry but we don't understand well what you mean.
To store a new preset slider position in a macro, you have to "update macro button". Then if you manually change the preset slider, clicking on the Macro button should restore the preset slider to the position stored in the macro button.

PS : Are you using Windows OS like specified in your profile ?

Niffo,
Yes I am using Windows and the beta fix files. Currently I can't get it to work properly like I did last night. So I am going to play with it a little more and give you an update later on my results.

Niffo,
I am using 6.30 Beta 5 with the windows beta fix file dated 13 Jun. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
I built a 9 step scene of my moving light colour wheel. I saved it and put it on board 2 of my Live screen. I then made 2 Macros on board 1 of my Live screen and updated each to my preset with the first Macro to the Preset fader in position 1 and my secon Macro to the Preset fader in position 3. As I engage each Macro in turn all I get is whatever the fader is still set to on the Preset.
Am I doing something wrong? I thought that each Macro would recall the fader position.
Do you have any suggestions?

To memorize a macro, the button(s) (in "preset" mode or not) must be pressed (activated), is that what you are doing ?

Yes. I am very familiar with using Macros. I use them almost exclusively to run scripted theatre shows. I have updated Macros mid-show.

I've downloaded the update too and it doesn't seem to have changed anything at all on my system. I'm running Sweetlight v6.3 beta and Live v 2.13.7 - 120403

Just to recap - the updated macros still don't seem to remember changed settings in preset buttons.

Help please guys.

You have to apply the "Fix Files" for that, the Live you are using is an ooooold Live :

But this is the version that's in the "fix for windows.zip" ... Or am I doing something drastically wrong?

I've downloaded and extracted the zip file and copied the resulting "3d" and "live" .exe files to the relevent folders in the sweetlight program folder.

Is this right or do I need a slap for doing something wrong?

You are right, the file in the "fix_for_windows" is not good at all. The person responsible for this will be punished as it should
