Generator causes crash [fixed]

Post by zcasey »

Every time I try to use the generator to create a scene, it causes the entire editor to crash. I'm using the latest software version, and even tried the Beta version. Am I doing something wrong?

We are not able to reproduce this problem.
Please tell us the exact procedure to get that.

Seems to be primarily when I'm trying to generate a "scene" for my LEDRain64's. I have them grouped (8) of them. Sometimes (a lot of times) when I get some points on a curve then go over and say check the box beside the Red channel for the fixture, I get a "Editor has encountered a problem and needs to close." I've run the program on both OSx and Windows Vista now. It definitely works better on Vista (never could use the generator at all on my mac). The problem has occurred a couple of times when I'm working with my simple par cans as well.

Please send us your lightshow. We might have more chances to reproduce the problem with your lightshow.

By the way, please specify your MacOS (Snow Leopard, Lion, ...).

Please confirm also that you never had the crash under Windows.

I'm using Leopard 10.6., and I had experienced the same problem on the PC. I set up a new lightshow (realized I was using the default show) and also was using the RAINled 64 fixtures when mine are the RAINled 56 (don't know if this really matters). Since doing these two things, on my PC, I haven't had that problem. If it happens again, I will let you know. Thanks.

Ok.
So, even if we will never understand what did happen, we add "[fixed]" on this topic's title.
If problem comes again, please keep posting here.
