Live crashes [fixed]

I posted this a couple days ago in a thread about the exact same thing. The thread did not give me a solution but it was labelled [FIXED] so perhaps thats why I got no answer.

I am having the same error with Live. I was working on making my smart phone work with Live, when suddenly Live wont open. I had just set it to show in Live_Mobile, set a password, set my firewall to accept port 7348. However I had not yet set a page to be seen in Live_Mobile nor had I got Live and smartphone to connect yet.
I have v6.281 ShowXpress
A Dell Dimension 2400 WIN XP SP 3
Galaxy S Android Version 2.3.7
Live_Mobile 1.1

And this is what I get from Live:

The message is "Live.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

more information shows "AppName: live.exe Appver: 0.0.0.0 ModName: kernel32.dll ModVer 5.1.2600.5781 Offset: 00009e32"

Now I have dumped 6.281, reloaded and same error. So I dumped 6.281 and did a clean install of 6.27 beta1. And still can't open Live. I used Live at a show last weekend with DMX patches of Input and Outputs with no problems. After reading through the other thread I tried deleting all my input and output patches and still Live doesn't work.
Bottom line? I can't use the program at all if Live doesn't work.

You are right. You're reply made me think so I loaded several other of my shows and Live works fine. So I will send you the show that has locked up on me...

We found the problem.
The number of steps of scene "Spot Intim/Preset HL PAN" is 129, and in Live there are "preset" buttons with this scene and a default position of the slider > 129. So Live tries to set the slider to an unexisting position, and it crashes.
You certainely removed some steps in this scene, after setting the slider positions in Live (?)

Please replace the file "Live.ini" by the attached file ; then Live will not crash anymore.

We note in the TODO list: "check that required default step slider position is existing. If not forget."

Thank you. I am in the process of dialing out the unused range of the pan and tilt for these so that the steps I have are only in the range I need. Thanks again its working and I just finished doing a focus for my spot macros and am ready for the show!

This problem is fixed in file "fix_for_MacOS/Windows.zip" (in the software folder).
