Adding Midi Triggers [fixed]

Post by dj_cuz »

I have an Akai APC40 Midi controller that I would like to control my scenes with. I am used to the "learn" function on a lot of programs that use Midi. Can anybody give me step by step on how to do this in ShowXpress?

I have enabled Midi under the "DMX & MIDI Patch" icon. That is all I have done in there though.
Then I open Live and right click the scene I want to trigger. This is where I get lost. I click "Trigger" and the box opens.
I then check the box for midi but what do I put for Channal and Note?

ShowXpress does not have a midi learn mode like ableton live does. You have to manually enter the midi values into the program. You can find the midi information by going to the DMX/Midi setup screen and pressing the button. The values you need to enter will appear in the box below on that screen. Maybe in a future update Showexpress could build in a midi learn mode... Would save mad time :)

Thanks a ton! That helped me out and I was able to get my scenes assigned for my Saturday gig. So much easier to hit a button than move a mouse around or find the keyboard trigger!
