New Idea I Can Not Figure Out.... Help?

Post by Sound Storms Ent. »

I have been using Xpress for quite some time and love it. By far the easiest and most flexible controller I have found. Up untill now I have been able to create every scene I have thought of. Now I am stuck and I am looking for some help. Here is what I would like to accomplish.....

12 LED par cans on a truss washing down a curtain behind a band (opposite of up-lighting idea)....

I would like to be able to pick a color from my Zone3 Page for the down wash (ie: Red) simple that I have been able to do for years.

I would like to make a scene (this is where I am stuck) that I can overlay the "red scene" that will cause the cans to scroll left to right changing ONE can at a time to WHITE and as the WHITE moves to the next can the first one goes back to "red"....

Now I know how to do this if I want to make a million scenes, one for each "red" color. I am looking to see if there is a way to overlay the "scroll" scene on top of the "color" scene. Does this make sense? So I am only adding one scene for the white scroll not 10 scenes for 10 different colors that all ready exist in my Zone3 page.

Here is the problem I keep running into. When trying to make this scene. Instead of can one going back to "red" it goes "blackout" I have tried to use the "disable this channel" function for the trailing lights but that does not work. Next idea to have can one go back to original scene "red"?

I did something similar like this. Make your scene with all 12 cans red. Then duplicate that scene 12 times, so that each step has all cans red. Select the first step and silde the first par can slider to white. Then at the bottom of the slider hit the smoth button (crooked line below fader).

Now when you select the second step, you can either make the red color snap back by leaving the step alone with the fader back in the red position (as coppied) or you can make it fade back to red by selecting the smoth button (again below the fader of the can going back to red).

Then repeat the steps for the next can to go white. You may want to play with the duration, I find 1 to 1.5 sec to work well for fades like that. Should look cool though, Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I know how to do it that way. The issue is I then have to make 15 scenes for the difrent colors (ie: red, blue, yellow, orange, green,.......) What i want to do is select a static color like "red" and all lights would be red then hit the scroll button for the white to scroll. then later lets say I could hit the "blue" static color button and hit the "scroll" button again for the same effect in blue. with out haveing to make 15 diffrent "scroll" buttons.

hi
i dont think that there is an easy way
but u can try this
create 3 scenes for red, blue and green (keep all not used fades deaktivated)
create 3 scenes for the white trail: if u use the red base color programm only blue and green to make the white chase
if u use the blue base color only programm red and green
if u use the green base color only programm blue and red
this will only work if u dont mix the base color.
it not perfect but its a way around it

or you can try to chase with the color macro channel, and the base color rgb
i didnt try this out because of no lights connected at the moment
good luck
