iPad app - washed out button colors because "darken button image in off state" is missing

I've struggled with the washed out colors in the iOS app for years, and just today found the "Darken button images in off state" option in the Windows program and disabling this exactly matches the washed out buttons found in the iOS app.

Can we get this option enabled by default like it is on Windows so that my buttons actually have colors and aren't completely washed out?
