To understand the problem, we need to reproduce it, and we're looking for the simplest way to do so.
Could you please try sending MIDI messages using "VirtualMidiSend," which is available for free on the App Store?
In the meantime, to try to get the D1024W interface working from v9.3.8, you can try putting the "efk_hardware.dylib" file from v9.4.1 into v9.3.8 directory (not tested)

Re: Version 9.4.1 does not receive MIDI In
Hello...thank you for the speedy response.
After checking with your midi software and also ours, we have found that the software is not receiving PROGRAM CHANGE Midi signals.
The software you suggested sent Note on and this worked. We changed to note on midi from qlab and other software and Lighting Controller received the data. All our midi messages are Program changes and these are still not received, so this doesn't solve the issue but I hope you will be able to recreate the error now using Program changes and find out why the software is not accepting them in this version.
Thanks again for your help!

Re: Version 9.4.1 does not receive MIDI In
Thank you for the clear report!
Problem only reproduced with QLab, which sends "Program Change" messages without a Data2 value.
The issue did not exist before version 9.3.21, as the software did not handle multiple MIDI messages simultaneously.
Fixed for the next fix file.
