How to "export the previous programming" ?

Post by fabioq »

I'm new to ShowXpress, and I'm hosting karaoke at a venue that had it installed on a iMac in the DJ boot and preprogrammed with all the fixtures in the venue. It was installed by someone who is no longer working at this venue. I would just launch the software and click a few buttons and the lights would run and shut it down at the end of the night. Recently, they changed the iMac with a newer one and setup only 4 of the many fixtures. So I've taken it upon myself to learn ShowXpress and program all the lights. The problem is I don't know the addresses of all the fixtures. I'm trying to find out from the staff if the old iMac is still around in storage or something so I can export the previous programming, which I hope the fixture addresses are included. If this is not possible, is there a way to autodetect the addresses, or is climbing a ladder and check the address of each fixture the only way to find out?

Please use the "Export lightshow" function from the old PC and then the "Import lightshow" function in the new PC.
Then you should get the complete lightshow in your new PC.
