Why asking to put in trash rather than installing.

I was downloading the mc version on the website, but it was not installed and told me to move to the trash bin.

Looks like a protection against unknown program.
Please try this:
Open the Apple menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General tab.
Under "Allow apps downloaded from" select "App Store and identified developers".
