No usb link with "USB-C to USB 3" adapter [fixed]

new user here and excited to get started.
all new software download on my mac laptop

NO USB link with Xpress 512S (after opening the software)
showexpress - v 9.2.10
mac os 10.14.6

It is supposed to straight work after software install + interface plug + software run (no driver to install).
Please try with another computer (Windows if possible). If still problem, please return your interface for maintenance service.

fixed it.

the issue was the USB-C to USB 3 adapter.
when i added a USB3 Hub box to the adaptor and plugged in the Xpress 512S it works!

must be a power thing with the USB-C to USB 3 adapter?
