Virtual dimmer channel (dimmer for RGB)
Virtual dimmer channel (dimmer for RGB)
Is there a way to create a 'virtual dimmer' which can be automated to act as a dimmer channel for 3-channel RGB fixtures?

You can assign the channels of the rgb fixture to one of the master faders.

I'm hoping to create a fixture that the software treats as 4-channel RBG+Dimmer, but gets output to DMX-512 as 3-channel RGB only? In other words, control a typical RGB LED tape as if it were a 4-channel fixture.support wrote:Sorry but we do not understand your question.
I'm having difficulty finding how to assign the master faders. Can they be automated with macros?JohnRichards wrote:You can assign the channels of the rgb fixture to one of the master faders.

Re: Virtual dimmer channel (dimmer for RGB)
Has anyone been able to figure out how to create a virtual dimmer yet? I am also stuck needing a "virtual dimmer" channel for my LED strips with 3ch decoders. I have been able to find other lighting controllers that are starting to add this feature. Is this something that could be done in ShowXpress? It would be huge!!!

So far, a Master Fader can do the job.

Can you use the master fader in the steps editor?
