El Capitan with 8.2.10 crash

Hi,

I got an '09 MacBook Pro with El Capitan (unable to upgrade to Sierra) for cheap. ShowXPress 8.2.10 is unusable, as I can't adjust the size of the app window, or move it around the screen without crashing.

Do I need to have Sierra to stay current with ShowXPress, or is there a fix for El Capitan?
