standalone scene must arrive by fading

Post by chrisbobmms »

I just got the SSA Controller and I am using it only with single channel dimmers as a basic lighting control for a recital hall. I have set up several scenes to control house lights and stage lights and using the Live program it works great. When I upload specific scenes through Stand Alone, the scenes work, however they are all "bumps." None of the fades that work in live work in Stand Alone mode. Am I being an idiot? or is this just how the stand alone controler works?

It seems to be the oposite of that post. I have fade times in the 3-5s range but they just bump. All of my scenes are single even scenes. Am I missing something in the progamming? The topic referenced is the symptom.

Can you send us the most possible basic scene which does that (the less possible steps and the lesss possible channels) ?
We will check it.

In your lightshow, the scene has only one step.
To fade, the scene must have at least two steps (start step and end step).
And, because scenes are looping, you have to add some more steps (same as second step) with long duration (max duration for one step in Ssa in 10mn).
Then, when you press the button, the scene will fade from step 1 to step 2, and stay showing step 2 (during max duration * nb of remaining steps).

So is there a way to keep scenes from looping with the controller buttons?

Stand-alone scenes in Ssa are always looping (no way to stop them).
Adding "sustain" steps is an easy way to prevent the scene from looping.

But sustain steps only sustain as long as the step is for, correct? There is no infinate sustain?
I think that I'd like to see this topic names not as [fixed] but rather [work-around offered]

So has anyone thought to update the firmware to include a loop/no loop flag?
