Imac Crashing with Show Xpress and Pixels

I Have a brand new iMac, i have been using show Xpress for a couple of years on a <Mac Book Air and have never had problems however since i purchased this new system show press crashes ever gig, it is also very slow at loading Pixels etc i have no other apps running, please help!!
