Some fixtures do not work over chanel 256

I cant seem to get a few fixtures to work over chanel 256 or 257 I am having the issue on my x box and sweetlight and with a chauvet strob and a nebula laser but my moving heads seem to work just fine over the 250 range Is ther a common issue with some fixtures that dont go over 250 or is it just a flook... My friend had the same problem with his laser so he just put it at the start of his chanels. It now works but it is just a band aid
..I will do the same thing if needed but I was just wondering.

It is very possible that some fixtures won't work on a specific DMX address; it's a minor software bug in the fixture. You said that other fixtures (moving heads) work on those "dead" channels which tell us that ShowXpress works ok, so try to find another controller that can go up to 250 and test the lights that don't work again. This will tell you if there is in fact a problem with the fixture. I have seen cases where the DMX cable does not pass signal for specific channels, so you may want to change cables as well. Just remember to change one variable at a time so you can isolate what is causing the problem.

Thanks Allen I dont think it is a software issue but I havent had a chance to break out my hard controller for trouble shooting ...I was only useing a 2ft DMX cable from my box to the light so I confedent that the cable is good but I will try a diff one just to be sure
