Generator/ Fan issue [fixed]

Post by DoubleDee »

I was working on a new scene in the Editor when I came across this problem.

I selected a group of 5 Intimidator 1.2, clicked the generator button, set up my gobo, color, & shutter. Then selected the X/Y. Used the default circle curve. Moved the Shift fader all the way to the right. Clicked generate. Went back to the Editor, opened the 3D view & played back the scene.

The scene played back jumpy like it was skipping steps. Looking at the Pan/Tilt window I can see where there are some steps close together & others that have a larger gap. Looking at the time code for the steps also differ. The scene is 00:10:00 long (The default length that the Generator set), most steps are 00:00:50 BUT there are a couple of steps that are 00:01:00 & 00:01:50.

It's been a few updates since I've used the generator. Never noticed this before with my other scenes.

Thanks

It seems there is a problem.
We need some time to check the code (this part of code is very complex).
In the mean time, we suggest you to add more points in the pan/tilt curve ; this would reduce the difference between the generated scene and and original project in Generator.

I did as mentioned above. No difference. It still puts a gap between the first steps.

I know you guys have alot on your plate so I'll just wait for the fix when it comes available.

You guys are doing an awesome job. I love the improvements and all the added features. Thank you for such a quick response as well!

Thank you for your comments.

The problem should be fixed in fix file ("fix_for_Windows.zip").
PS: in the basic scene you mentionned above, the step length is not always the same, but the result is correct. Please note that generated scene is "vectorial", so it could never be perfect.

Please let us know if it is ok for you now.
