I use timeline for most of my theatrical work, and have numerous pause positions in each timeline which I use as cues.
One of the uses for this, if I have a live act without music playing, I can set a basic light level within a 10 second period between 2 pause buttons. During this pause I can play a cd, or change light scenes with buttons, and when the timeline reaches the pause I am ready for the next cue. This pause does not affect any other buttons that I load.
However, if I use a button to play a media file, the song will also pause at the same time the timeline does. There are ways around this, by using another program to play the track, but it would be so much more convenient if ShowXpress could handle this.
By the way, the same happens in Versions 7.15, 7.16 and 7.17

Re: Pause stops all audio
A simple way to put it is described below.
I have a timeline which has 3 parts, which are separated by the pause button.
Part One runs for 3 minutes and has a backing track in the audio channel and various light scenes.
Part Two runs for 20 seconds and has a green colour wash (A live band was performing in this part)
Part Three runs for 3 minutes, same as part one with different audio and lights.
Problem - Band is not going to play, and I need to fill Part Two with an Audio Track.
This Audio track is loaded into a Live Button.
When in the timeline, I move from Part one to Part two, and then activate The Audio track in the Live Button. All goes well until the timeline reaches the Pause between Part 2 and 3. This pauses the timeline correctly, but also pauses the Audio playing which was activated with a button.
Hope this makes sense, and is understandable.

This is almost what we wrote in the ToDo list.
We wrote "pause & stop in Live>TimeLine stop media buttons in Live>Buttons".
