BOTEX DC 1216 II DMX Input

Hey everyone!
Maybe you can help me with this problem I´ve got with my Botex DC 12/16 II DMX Controller.
It has got an DMX Input, but I just can´t figure it out, how to use it (e.g. after the D512).

I think it has to do something with assigning DMX Channels but I didn´t found how to assign the DMX input.
Have you got an idea?

I have a very similar controller I use as a wing console for my LX2. What do you want to do with it?

The Botex DC 1216 II has got an DMX IN- AND Output so I want to use it between the D512 and my fixtures:

D512 [OUT] -----> [IN] (Botex mixer) [OUT] -----> [IN] fixtures

The manual says: "This connector accepts your DMX input signals"......
