V8 - "Vertical slider" and "Release all buttons" ?

Please explain the Vertical Slider Pop-up feature and pop-up Release All and how to use it?
Does it include "Mouse Scrolling" ?

Option "Vertical slider"
checked: fader/preset of selected button is vertical
not checked: fader/preset of selected button is horizontal

Option "Release all buttons"
Checked: switches off all buttons in "on" state, when the selected button is pressed
Uncheck: no action

Mouse scrolling is not included.
