when picking lights, basic or advanced? [done]

I'm completely new to lighting. I'm about to buy the intimidator led 300 and was told to play around with the program first to get used to it. My first question is, when picking my lights on setup do i pick basic or advanced? For now I picked basic and it shows that I have a lot of colors and gobos but other than a few colors, most of them just have question marks next to them. and for the gobos it just says for example "gobo5" and a question mark. when i go into 3d view i can only get those few main colors, and none of the gobos work on the screen for me. am i doing something wrong or is this just how the program works? I'll attach a screen shot

Please use a recent version of the software. It has "Intimidator Scan LED 300 (8CH)" and "Intimidator Scan LED 300 (11CH)".

I'm using 6.27, i thought that was the newest version. I do see the lights in there, when i try to load the advanced one it gives me 11 ch, but most of the channels are question marks. because I'm new and didn't really know the difference i just chose basic 8 ch. but like i said i don't actually see the different gobos and colors (other than white, red, blue, green, yellow and pink - the others just show up question marks)

the colors its missing looks like the split colors. and its missing all of the gobos. i just wasn't sure if this is how the program is supposed to be, but maybe on the lights it will look fine (i didn't buy them yet, they are still out of stock), or if the program should be able to show me what the gobos will look like.

The question marks just mean that 3D view won't display the gobos. Your fixture should work fine.

DJ Demand,

The "?" next to the gobos just means that the gobo image won't be available when using the 3D View or when right-clicking in Editor. The fixture itself will work fine and ShowXpress does not need these gobo images in order to function. We currently have many fixtures with this "?" and are currently gathering all the required images to update all the profiles. Please note that due to the sheer amount of fixtures and gobos per fixture - this is a time-consuming process.

The first hour is the basics and the second hour is the advanced class.
