OK, I don't know how fast the playback is, but it is significantly above normal speed.

I have a .mov file that plays just fine in a quicktime player, but when I run it off of the timeline it plays super fast. Whats up with that?

Can you tell us if this is same problem with all MOV files, or only one MOV file ?
If problem with all MOV files, what about other video file formats, like AVI files for instance ?

Excellent suggestion and for some reason on the mac (which is not the computer I am using for the live controller) .mov works fine, but on the PC (which is where I am using the controller) I have the speed issue. I ended up switching file formats to .mpg2 and that seemed to do the trick.

So the "MOV speed" problem on under Windows comes certainely from the codec.
