The Lighting Controller Classic

I am looking to use this product in a integrated system for a small lounge. We want to be able to trigger the 8 scenes from an external GPIO controller. Am I reading correctly that the way this works via zones is scenes 1-4 will "solo" each other out so triggering one will shut off the previous scene but scenes 5-8 will not and instead will layer on top of 1-4? Can this be changes so that all 8 scenes will just deactive the previous scene when triggered? Also we were hoping to have access to 16 scenes total for this install so was thinking of getting 2 of these units. do the GPIO contacts act as toggles so that if its triggered once it plays the scene and if its triggered again it stops the scene?

I also saw a pic of some internal contacts that can trigger scenes 9-16 on the unit from a GPIO. is that really a thing?

The Rack1024 interface has 16 buttons that can be assigned across 4 zones.
Each button can be linked to any zone, meaning all 16 buttons can be assigned to the same zone if needed.

When a button is pressed, it switches off any other button currently active in the same zone.
As a result, a maximum of 4 buttons can run simultaneously (one per zone).

First GPIO contact → button ON
Second GPIO contact → button OFF

The Rack1024 interface includes an external connector that allows you to trigger the first 8 buttons.
To trigger the other 8 buttons, you need to open the casing and connect them directly to the front panel PCB:

If you are comfortable with electronic component soldering, it will be easy for you to connect the remaining 8 buttons.
