So I have Show Xpress installed on a different PC as my Virtual DJ, I also have show Xpress installed on the same pc as my Virtual DJ. I have both PC's connected to the same network, but my Show Xpress that is installed on a different PC does not read the beats of VDJ. I have Bonjour installed and the Virtual DJ button enabled. When I play music with Show Xpress that is installed on the same PC, everything works fine and it is set-up exactly how my other Show Xpress is set up. Is there something that I'm missing with my other PC?
Any help would be appreciated!
Not working wth two different computers
Re: Not working wth two different computers
We see two possibilities:
1. wrong IP address in software parameters
2. Ethernet port blocked by a firewall

Re: Not working wth two different computers
So I have the two Laptops connected on the same network via wi-fi. Do they need to be connected via LAN cable?
Re: Not working wth two different computers
No.
It should work also via wifi.

Virtual DJ and Showxpress
To make VDJ work on the same laptop (new way)
In Showxpress
File - Preferences - Network
Virtual DJ - Enable - Port 7350
In VDJ open options - type in os2l - then check Yes
Play a track in virtual DJand see if the bars are moving in the Beat window of Showxpress. VDJ should appear in the window. Press pause to see if the bar stops. If it does you are set up correctly.
To make work on separate laptops
On each laptop go to...
Right click Internet and go to Open Network & Internet Settings - Change adapter options - click Internet Protocol Version 4 - click Properties - Use the following IP Address
On the Showxpress Computer put
IP Address 192.168.1.2

Rest Blank
On the Virtual DJ Computer put
IP Address 192.168.1.3
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Rest Blank
Make sure the Ethernet adapter is enabled on both laptops.
In Showxpress
