Chauvet DMX-AN vs DMX-AN2

Post by gymclubdjs »

Hi All!

We are considering the purchase of an Chauvet DMX-AN or DMX-AN2 controller, but have been unable to understand whether there are any perceptive advantages from one controller over the other?

Further... Do either the Chauvet DMX-AN or DMX-AN2 provide signal buffering, like the Enttec ODE MK2, which prevents latency between the computer => controller => fixtures?

Thank you for your assistance.

Kind Regards,

Gary

Hi Gary,

The DMX-AN2 replaced the DMX-AN. We added optical and electrical isolation, an automatic re-direct (if you change the IP address) and updated the web-based GUI.
Neither model provides any signal buffering.

Hi Allan!

Thank you for the quick feature difference between the DMX-AN and DMX-AN2.

Do any of the Chauvet Xpress or DMX controllers provide signal buffering?

If not... You might consider it for future offerings.

Thanks, again, for the information.

Kind Regards,

Gary

Hello Gary,
Could you please give more details about the purpose of "signal buffering" for a dmx interface ?
