Syncing Show Files to songs

Could I use ShowXpress to play back music files and have a light show programmed to the music file and will ShowXpress play the music file with no glitches and at the same speed as the file is recorded, as I want to use the programme for a performing act where singers will be singing and performing to the music files played on ShowXpress
