I work for a local hockey team that has been using (4) Qspot-575 lights for seven years now.. we used a DMX controller bar before and that went to crap on us... now the team bought this software to use... and basically gave it to me and said set it up your the light guy... what i am wondering is i have no experiance with the lights except running and programming them before using the DMX controller... How hard is this going to be for me to get it set up... or maybe the better question is am i going to be able to set something like this up with no prior experiance??

Thanks guys! :?:

Let me start by saying, Im no light guy. Im just a singer in a rock band. And as all real LDs know, Singers dont know anything.

Now, with that being said, I found this program very easy to use & understand. The forum is great. If I cant figure something out, I just scan thru the forum on the related topic. Also check out the video section. It really helped me.

The one thing you're gonna need to do is spend some time playing around with the program. Download the latest software on your home computer, set up all your fixtures & open the 3D view and have fun. You don't need to connect your fixtures to start using this software. The 3D view will show you how it all will look.

Hope I've helped.

'the team bought this software to use' ? ?

Did they buy the hardware ? (Because the software is actually free) If so, then I can promise that using V6.24 and a few coffees over a couple of nights learning the software a little and you will not regret it.

The old adage 'you only get out what you put in' is the norm but with this software/ Hardware you will be amazed at how much you get back after only a couple of days.

The manual is fairly explanitory as well as the users in the forum and the support team (one of the few programming teams who actually 'listen'' to the customers and work with them, such a refreshing change)

I am also quite happy to help out if, and when required, to get you off the ground :-)

How do you mean? Its hard to do it wrong really :) As long as you know how to set your lights up normally (addresses etc) then setting it up in the software should be fairly self explanatory :)

If you get stuck just shout and I'll make you a basic show to get you started if it will help :)

well thats the kicker... I understand the concept but when i arrived the lights had already been installed and set up... Can i just go by the manual for my Q-Spot 575 lights to set each of them up? When i say set them up i am refering to setting them up in the software....

To get through the help process I think you need to kind of answer some of the requested questions posted above so the help can be advanced ? Otherwise it becomes a post full of stab statements.

Let me try push this along to help ok. Have you bought the Sweetlight/ Showxpress 'Hardware' ?

Regards,

Lee.

Hi,

You shall need to write the profile for your Q-Spot then add them into the software so you can use them. If you would like me to write the profile for your Q Spot then I am happy to do so to help out, send me your email and I will sort it out.

Cheers,

Lee.
