Spec indicates that a .mov will work, yet I add it to the timeline and then hit play, but it crashes the program

Any experts tried this with V7, anyone know what I'm doing wrong ?

Thanks!!
Pete

It works here with a our "test" mov file.

Can you please send us your mov file via "wetransfer.com" (or similar) ?
We will check with it.

It works with our Macbook.
In order to know if this problem is exclusively with your computer, can you please try with another Mac computer ?

Thanks for checking!

Originally I tried this on my MacBook Pro, I have now tried it on my iMac, and it crashes on this as well :-(

My version is 7.1.0

When I import the movie, it's from my desktop (not a showxpress folder location)
Also it's the only thing on the timeline

Drag and drop doesn't work (no green + sign when you drag), so I am 'right' clicking on the timeline on the video channel and importing via a finder window

Hope the above helps... Look forward to any suggestions you may have as it's for Halloween coming up this Friday !!

I have noticed that sometimes a timeline will not work without at least 1 light scene.

SUCCESS!!

Thanks for your help with this!!

You may like to consider a mention on the forum and in the manual, and a 'readme' file in with the download, to explain to users that the update file contained in the .zip should be placed in the existing application folder, to overwrite the existing, as it does not install when clicked.

Hope this helps others...

Thanks again guys, happy Halloween!!
