Quick Midi Question ?

I am looking to clarify a midi question.

If you right click a button you can launch a timeline using midi, this I know.

When i right click a button and choose to launch a timeline using midi I am faced with midi options ranging from 0-127, my question is are these actually midi program changes ? the reason I ask this is I have read on the forums as being refered too as midi 'notes' and I am confused as there is no such thing as 128 notes in music ? but there is 128 program changes available in midi programming.

Is it just a case of people calling them 'notes' but in fact are programme changes ?

I hope this is clear.

Thanks,

Lee.

midi notes and midi program changes are different.
Presently, the software is able to manage only midi notes.

I understand that, I am probably more well versed on midi more than anything else,

I only ask cause I have a guitar foot controller that transmits control changes and program chanegs only, yet Sweetlight picks it up ! Odd. It seems to do this only if you have volume control set to 127 for ON and 0 for off ! Then it works, no midi notes, just CC and Program changes.

Just wondered.

Thanks,

Lee.

It would be nice if it was possible to trigger from Midi note, program change and CC.

This is in the TODO list (but not in priority list).

Thats what I am sayinhg, It already does recognise CC and Program changes, to make them work fluently we just need a volume option to go along with it so we can set the vol to 127 (on) or 0 (off)

I have some pedals on the board that are simply on/ off and they are only CC and program changes, I am currently using it in sweetlight. The other pedals go from 0 'through' to 127 and are thus iregualar (like I say unless Sweetlight could depict 0 or 127)

Lee.
