The Lighting Controller

This weekend I had to do a tent gig in below 0f temperatures. Despite the tent being "heated" my old analogue wing console couldn't deal with temps even though I have a under console warmer and an 250w IR heat lamp above it. So I pulled out my backup tablet and configured it to handle my dmx cues.
It worked except I noticed a latency I have me e-reading noticed before. Has anyone experienced this?
I am Bluetooth for my keyboard and mouse, Wi-Fi for the 2 tablets, and run an HP All In One Win 7 and 4 gigs of memory. The system is pretty stripped to do just ShowXpress so there is little else running in the background but what I need to do the show.

What do you use for the wi fi? your own router? try to use an ad-hoc conection for reduce latency

My own router, but I changed from Splashtop to Teamviewer for my remote connection and it helped considerably.
