Ran into an issue using the new Live "Open in Editor" option. When I open a scene in Editor, from Live, the Save button does not save my changes. I can only hit Save As, then save over it. Is it supposed to be that way?
Also is there a way to have a refresh button for Live? Closeing Live and reopening is the only way a changed scene updates. I tried to use "Change Scene" for the button and reselected the scene to refreash the changes and that did not work. Even when I delete the button and create a new one with my new changed scene, it still comes up with the old scene, until I close and restart Live. Then it comes up the right way.
"Open in Editor" - "Save" in Editor does not work [fixed]
Re: New Open in Editor feature
I deffinately feel the need to say WOW, I really like the new Fade in/out options for the buttons. But especially the Fader Button!! That is exactly what I was looking for, for my Hazer! Live is really getting to be one very handy tool!
Well done by all the dev team, I am SO glad I chose this software to for my lighting needs! Thank you staff for all of your hard work!

@Support
This "save as" problem was solved in the last beta release, and as per Niffo, it was a path problem.
Hope you find the code for it.
John
Also, the new fader button is good. Would it be possible for an option to have this slider either top, bottom, left, right .
This would help in the smoothness of the slider.

Re: New Open in Editor feature
The button "Save" is supposed to do its job after using "Open in Editor" from Live.
This is a bug. It seems to be different than the previous "Save as" bug. We will fix it asap.
Live is supposed to get the scene change simply after switching off and on again the button.
Please let us know if this is not like this for you.

Re: New "Open in Editor" feature
The fader which comes with a button must stay joined to the button, because it concerns only first/last steps of the button.
The "master faders" project, which is a complete different job, will show bigger faders in a separate screen.

@Support.
The save button does exactly what it did before in one of the beta releases.
It saves the scene in "Program Files\ShowExpress\Editor".
My last beta install saves the scene correctly.

Re: New "Open in Editor" feature
"Live is supposed to get the scene change simply after switching off and on again the button."
Here is what I did:
Open a scene in Editor (the button I chose was a Preset button with 4 steps)
I changed the scene from 4 steps to 1 (making my Hazer fan full on)
I saved the button (with Save as) So that I know it saved the changes, I re opened the scene in editor (which is how I found the first issue)
I closed Editor and went back to Live, still seeing the Preset slider have 4 steps, but I kind of expected this (because I thought I had to refresh)
I clicked on and off the button - Result - No change (Preset slider still shows 4 steps)
I right clicked the button and selected "Change scene" on that button, then selected the newly updated scene - Result - No change (Preset slider still shows 4 steps)I deleted the button, and created a new on that same panel and added my newly updated scene - Result - No change (Preset slider still shows 4 steps)I closed Live, then reopend it - Result - My scene was updated (2 steps, off position to the right and 100% position to the left which is really my only step)
I did this so that I could turn this particular "Hazer Fan" speed scene into a Fader Button, but just wanted to confirm how scene changes would get refreshed.
Here is the twist, because of this, I just did another test and changed a Red scene to Green. Then I saved the new Green edit. Then I selected the button in Live, now my Red comes up Green. So what you say works! (for the most part) WHICH IS AWESOME!!
But that proves that we have a Preset slider refresh issue. I have to restart Live to update the Preset slider steps of a scene, if the amount of steps of that scene have been changed in the last edit.

Re: New "Open in Editor" feature
Understood.
With standard buttons (no preset), Live gets correctly the scene change, after switching off/on the button, but not with preset buttons.
We will fix that.
