scene re-starts from 0 after pause/play action

I used version 6.31 for the first time live using timelines today and needed to pause the scene in a technical rehearsal.
When I pressed paly to resume the timeline, I lost the lighting scene until the next scene was triggered. The audio track was fine.
I seem to remember that this was a previous problem that was fixed in version 6.28 or 6.29
Testing when I got home, the 3D worked ok, therefore it appears to lose the dmx signal.
Any thoughts or fixes?

After checking, things look normal:
- "pause" really pauses the scene (channels are frozen), and "play" continues to play the scene from where it was paused
- "stop" removes the scene, so "play" restarts it from zero
