Any way to control a "virtual" universe?

We have 7 Color Rail fixtures set up in 26ch mode. I am trying to find a more effective way to select and program these fixtures. One option is to define 8 Par fixtures for each rail and use DMX mapping to allow the "virtual" fixtures to control the actual rails. This way, each of the sections of the rail will be represented by a virtual par and can be selected and programmed individually.
The issue I have is that I don't have enough DMX channels in Universe 1 to set up the virtual par cans. Is there any way to put the virtual par cans in a second universe and link the DMX channels together between the two universes? Also, since we have an Xpress 512, Show Express will only recognize one universe. I need to be able to use another "virtual" universe to have enough DMX channels to control the pars.
Any suggestions?
